Quote of the Day: Mark Driscoll

"...your theology leads to your doxology, which results in your biography. What you believe (theology) enables you to worship (doxology), and through worshipping, you become like that which you worship (biography). It goes from proposition, to worship, to transformation. You get to know who God is. You worship him. Then you become like that which you love."

Taken from the article called: "A Narrative Approach: Will it Preach?" by Mark Driscoll found here.

I think that would elicit quite a violent response from Donald Miller who can't tell me enough times in "Searching For God Knows What" that everything is relational and NOT propositional.

Yes, Mark Driscoll addresses this kind of reductionism in his very helpful article. How about relational and propositional! I like how Driscoll says that we do not have to choose between a modern and a postmodern epistemology, but a we have a christian one, as revealed by God in Holy Scripture. Michael, I would be interested in your further thoughts on Mark Driscoll's article.

reminds me of a quote i read recently...

"It is, however, dangerious to ignore the mind. I am reminded of a comment by my colleague, Tom Trevethan, who once told sutdnets, "The heart will not long rejoice in what the mind knows is not true.""

James W Sire in an article entitled, "Why should Anyone Believe Anything At All?"
