History Should Be Our Teacher: The Dangers of Ordaining Women

Ordaining Women is becoming more and more popular in the evangelical church, not because the Scriptures have changed or almost 2000 years of practice has been wrong, but because this is one of the major areas where the culture is pressing against the church. Phillip Jensen, dean of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney Australia, shows the dangers from history of ordaining women applying it specifically to the Anglican context. Evangelical denominations, e.g. the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, should sit up and take notice. The article can be found here.
Spiritual Inferiority

My favorite Bible teacher in the world has a helpful meditation on this subject. He opens it with these words:

"Have you ever experienced a spiritual inferiority complex?

It is usually brought on by somebody else - somebody who seems to be spiritually superior. They may not think of themselves as superior but their actions and words overwhelm us. We feel that if their experience is normal then ours must be subnormal.

It comes in so many different guises...."

Age of Consent Bill C-2 Now Law

Royal Assent was granted to Bill C-2 on Feb. 28. This bill includes provision to raise the age of protection (consent to sexual activity with an adult) to 16 years from the previous 14. The new age of protection is now the law in Canada. The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) repeatedly lobbied the government to raise the age of protection and applauds the increased protection for vulnerable youth from sexual predators.
EFC Encourages Support of Unborn Victims of Crime Bill

On March 5 MPs will vote on Bill C-484, the Unborn Victims of Violent Crime Act. They will decide whether or not unborn children injured or killed during a violent attack on their expectant mothers should be recognized under the Criminal Code of Canada.
